Nice work. I'll expect the inevitable rant against the shamelessly negligent "coverage" provided by our paper of record, the NAG, later today.

Thanks for the compliment Black-ops. We do try to do our best with the few hands we've got.

However, comparing the later deadline pressures and flexibility to correct misprints on a blog/Web site v. a daily newspaper would be like confusing the infallibility of Jesus with Mel Gibson.

(On second thought? The CT is more like Debbie Gibson, and less relevant too!)

Anyways...

After all, it's not like the N & G repeated any mistakes on their Web site where one has the luxary to revise minute-by-minute.

And, there is a difference between admitting mistakes and blithely ignoring them a la.....

We are, after all, especially here, only silly and failable little humans.

Best regards,

All well and good, but no dice, Gil.

Reed didn't even mention the voting machine glitch, although it could have affected his story, and did.

You and I both know enough about modern newspaper publishing to know that 11;30 is not too late for the N&G to fix a page one story (above the fold, no less!) when facts become known to keep it accurate. And Reed had to know the voting machine glitch spelled trouble. Declaring that incumbents had been bounced from town council was too good a story to pass up, so Mr. Reed left the admin. building early. No excuse.

Don't believe me? Check out the ass-covering and blame-throwing at the clerk's office in Thursday's Daily stories. Sheesh. Reed had all the information available to him in plenty of time to write an accurate story in the first place.
